Walk to Princes Street in 25-30 minutes or take one of the buses that pass by approx every 15-20 minutes.
Stockbridge which is a village like area with pubs and interesting shops is a 20 minute walk.

There is a huge shopping area 5 minutes walk across the street with many shops and places to eat. Shops include a M&S foodhall, Cafe, and clothing store. Costa Coffee Cafe, Boots the Chemist, Sainsburys Grocery Store, Nike Factory Store, KFC restaurant, Frankie and Bennys restaurant, Argos, Currys +

A photographers delight? This is a photo of the 'many layers of Edinburgh' taken from the apartment on a misty February morning before blue skys appeared. Chimney pots, church steeples, Edinburgh Castle and Arthur's Seat are all in view.  During the festival and celebrations the fireworks displays are clearly seen without leaving home!
